Why is it that boys prefer trucks over baby dolls? Why is it that girls prefer dolls over trucks? I chose the picture that I did because it shows how gender socialization is in children. It shows that boys will chose a truck or an action figure that transforms over baby dolls and purses. For girls it shows that they will choose a baby doll or a pony over a truck. Children are persuaded everyday with gender roles without any knowledge of what is going on around them. It is very hard not to be persuaded because of the media, cartoons and even their role models that they look up to.
