From Jenna:
In my girl culture photo I wanted to show how girls are pressured everyday to conform into things that they aren't. Ashley (the blonde) is dressed in very boring and dull colors. The colors don't really have much to them; almost like she just grabbed the first this that she saw. The Redskins shirt is to show her devotion to sports and her appriciation for atheltics. The pants are running pants; very lose and big. She doesn't like to expose her body she she would rather cover it up with bigger clothes because she doesn't feel like this is a place that she fits in. Katie (the brunette) is in a princess dress and it shows wear she feels most comfortable. The bright colors and ribbons show her bubbly personality and how she loves to dress up. She's trying to be and act like the princess that she is dressed up as. Surrounding them are pom pom's, a princess blanket, make-up, and lots of pictures of very beautiful people. Society expects girls to be like this and if your not then they will try and change you because you don't fit the image of what a girl is "suppose" to look like. I took the picture from this angle because it shows that Ashley does not like what is happening to her but she is still allowing it to happen. You can still catch a glimpse of Katie's expression and how excited she is to be changing Ashley's style. The color for this picture is very vibrant and focused on one part of the photo and that is Ashley's expression. The rest is blurred out so that her face grabs your eye when you first look at it.
