From Amanda
This is a picture of a team of high school shot put throwers. In this picture there are nine girls and one guy. They stopped practicing for a little bit, to take a couple team pictures. I blurred out the girls faces slightly and focused more on the boys face. In the picture, notice what he is doing and how he is standing compared to what the girls are doing. Most of the girls in this picture are leaning on each other, getting close to each other. All of the girls are smiling. The only male in this picture is standing straight up, with his arms crossed, with his chin slightly raised, and a serious look on his face. The way the two genders are acting in a picture are completely different. The girls are more loving and happy. They do not mind showing their emotions. The male in this photo is acting like a tough, macho guy. Even though he is the only guy in this picture, he still has to put on this tough guy act. Males tend to show a more dominant attitude and try and act like they have a tougher exterior. This photo I call "Male Competition" is showing the competition within the male gender, even when they are the only males around they compete with themselves to prove that they are strong and masculine.
