My photo is a symbol of the toys that would be labeled as little girl toys by the media. The media has a big affect on the toys that little girls like to play with, Seen in the photo the toys are from the Disney Princess and Barbie. When a little girl watches the films from the Disney Princess's or even Barbie they start to mimic what is being done on the movies which shows the girls how to be glitzy or glamorous or even how to look. The media has helped to show how gender is learned at such a young age. The Barbie symbolizes how young girls will think that they have to look a certain way in order to fit in. The princess game
"Pretty Little Princess gives girls the idea that they have to wear jewelry as an accessory to look and feel good. Gender stereotyping has a big influence on children and how they think, feel and do. As young children start acting like what they see in the media they will start to steer away from what is really important such as education or even just trying to find out whom they really are.

In the photo, “Pretty Little Princess” is a clear example of how media influences each sex; specifically girls. Every item have pink in it; a key depiction of making something feminine and identifying it as a girl. Media for young girls makes everything pink and about princesses; giving young girls role models to be like. The Media gives young girls the idea that they have to look like Barbie and be damsels in distress like those beautiful princesses who just wait for men to come rescue them. Then, these girls must rely on a man for the rest of their life or they won’t be happy. This photo shows how much influence media has on gender roles in our society.
