Children start playing with toys at an early age, and for my photo/blog assignment I chose the topic "Toy and Activities Preferences." Furthermore, I decided to take a photograph of my two little cousins who are four and six years old. In addition, my cousins are demonstrating that they enjoy playing with more feminine toys such as Polly pockets rather than action figures. Also, the background symbolizes their love of dollhouses which represents girls having a more passive, nurturing, and warmth type of trait. In addition to young girls preferring to play with more feminine toys, these two girls in the photo are also demonstrating pretend play by taking care of the Polly pockets as if they were real people. I also feel that the girls' expressions on their face show how much they enjoy playing together and having fun. In addition to the overall background, the hue (pink) in the photograph represents being feminine. Lastly, this photo demonstrates girls exhibiting a more sophisticated role of being gentle when they play with their toys unlike boys who tend to be rough.

Like every little girl growing up I had my Barbie dream house, my doll house, every girly thing imaginable. I loved my little water baby more than anything. When I got my water baby it was around the time my mother had my baby sister. I would carry my water baby everywhere. I acted like that little baby was my child. She had baths I would feed her as if she was real. I was being that nurturing mother that at a very young age we are taught to portray.
I think this is a really nice picture of two little girls. You can tell that they have something in common with the Barbie dolls. The one girl is looking at the other girl directly like she wants to form a connection with her. The background really shows all girl toys which promotes that parents and child care places really emphasize that girls play with girl toys and boys play with boy toys.
A very nicely taken photo that hints at the codes we follow as being male and female. Even as young girls we're taught to realize our nurturing caring selves and we're brought toys that help us fit into our society made gender roles. When girls grow up like this, it's in their nature to want to do such things as take care of kids, or to want to be a "princess."
This is a great picture that depicts the average little girl. These girls look like htey enjoy Barbie dolls and pretend playing. The background allows the reader to really understand how the girls want to be portrayed as. The picture also shows the bond these girls share as they are playing with the doll and being nurturing toward it. The picture shows how the girls are sticking to the roles they have been taught and are really enjoyig it as well.
I love this post. I like how the two little girls are playing together. It just reiterates the fact that when they play they play together, facing each other. I also love how the background is blurred just to focus on the girls playing.
