In this photo the softball is off to the left leaving the
feminine products in the background to be more of the main focus. Woman are portrayed
to be domesticated, weak, and pink. Society doesn’t view athletic women that
way or believe that they can be both feminine yet competitive or capable of
performing physical activities just as well as a man can. The ball is being
overlooked by all the beauty products and materialistic items behind it. Once
women step out of the box of femininity they are seen as dykes, or butch, or
lesbians when really they are just enjoying something they've worked hard for.
Being skilled at something better than a man is frowned upon which makes
society somewhat unfair when it states we are all treated as
"equals."
