Rob Okun thinks so. He says that Women's Equality Day (August 26th) should offer men a chance to reflect on the ways feminism has affected their own lives.
I would say that men can benefit from women's studies. It gives them the opportunity to see the discrepincies in equality that are involved with our male lead society. It also gives them the chance to rethink some of the predisposed notions about what women are capable of in the workplace, sports, and society in general.
I believe men can benefit from women studies. It will help them understand the inequalities within our society and many others. Women studies can help men understand the true meaning of feminism and it's not just "mean" women degrading men. This class will also teach them about the treatment of women in the past, and that it still occur today.
I think that men can benefit from womens studies because they can learn more about women. Sometimes men do not understand what/why women do the things they do and vice versa so they could potentially benefit so they have more understanding.
Yes I believe men can learn a lot from a women's studies class. It could change many opinions and could even change their actions towards women they come in contact with everyday. They could finally see the true meaning of "feminism". Plus, I think we could learn alittle bit about men as well, How they feel towards the subject.
A truthful man will admit that the responsibility of having to always be the strong, decisive leader is burdensome. And a truthful man with enough self-respect and self-worth would welcome the opportunity to share his burdens with another (regardless of gender).Such a man will be enlightened and encouraged by much of the information that he will get from a women's studies class.
I absolutely believe men can benefit from women's studies. Now, I'm not trying to start any conflict, but I think a lot of me just generally don't understand women and I think this class can give them a way to look at some things in a different perspective. Even me personally as a women believe that I can learn and benefit from this class.
Men can benefit from Women's Studies. It will help them to better understand what "feminism" really is. And not just that is means woman being objective. More men should take this class. This also gives them a better knowledge of what woman can really do in society today. Not just sitting around being a housewife, but out in the workplace as boss's and CEO's of a company.
Two thumbs up to Mr. Okun! Yes, men would gain much learning the true benefits of women’s equality; sharing power. What I hope we can all learn is the difference between absolute power and personal power. Personal power is for their own gain. Too often it is through manipulation it is through selfishness, the ego. It is very unhealthy. Absolute power on the other hand is true power, where everyone gains. It happen when encouragement and support of others towards healthy leadership.
I think men can definatley benefit from women studies because whats a better way to learn about women. Also i think it would help men understand what a feminist is all about and how they are not all male hating lesbians. I think it would open up many guys eyes because they would than know what women went throuh to get the little freedom and respect we have today.
