I chose this picture because I feel it explains a lot about the socialization of gender. Growing up as a little girl, I always wore a dress, skirt or something that I look back at that shows feminism. Society believes that girls are suppose to wear dresses, while little boy as shown in this picture can wear a football jersey. As stated in other picture examples, trucks are for boys and dolls are for girls, why can't jerseys, trucks, dolls, etc. be either boy/girls. Where do they get this? And why can't it be changed?

I remember being young. I time where toys for boys were played with by boys and toys for girls were played with only by girls. If you played with the opposite you were talked about. Even adults would steer children to play with toys geared towards they sex. That activity being taught to them by their parents. This gender based activity is slowly changing. I think today children have more choices when chosing what toys to play with. Plus I think more toys that could be played with by both genders are now being chosen, and I feel that it is changing. There are more options with children and children are chosing different toys than what is usually in their comfort zone.
