Reflection

This photo is the epitome of what today's society expects girls to appear. The physical appearance that is shown on the computer screen is of a model. Models and celebrities are always idolized and appealing to both men and women not because they think that being very thin is beautiful, but because the media portrays this image of beauty to be very thin. The lighting in the photo is dark and the one thing that stands out is the computer screen with the very thin model on it. The image on the computer screen reflects the insecure expression on the girls face. The background is complex. It shows mirrors surrounding her. The mirrors symbolize identity. It's almost as if she is always looking at herself in mirrors and obsessing or worrying about what she looks like. There is also a can of hairspray which isn'™t that significant, but the smaller bottle is. It is a bottle of diet pills. But the pills are questionable in the photo because you cannot read the bottle so its hard to determine what they actually are. I wanted to make the bottle present but questionable just so there would be more of a mystery in the photo since everything else is so obvious.
