This picture shows gender socialization because all the girls on the wall are from magazines known as "pretty girls" which most girls would want to be. The significance of the girl hanging the Hydroxy Cut add in the middle of the pictures is a reminder that she needs to lose weight in order to be pretty. All the pictures are of models and famous women who are all skinny and flawless and in ordered to be noticed a girl could feel as if she needs to look like that. The pictures are on the wall in a big collage because it represents how these images are everywhere which would diffidently have an influence on a young girl's life.

This girl in this picture is hanging a Hydroxy Cut add on her wall. But she is hanging this add in the middle of the images on her wall. The images on her wall, are pictures cut out of women from a magazine. These women look like models. They are beautiful and thin. The Hydroxy Cut is put in the middle of the other images. She is stating that she want to be just like those girls on her wall. She wants to be thin and beautiful. She knows that hydroxyl cut might help her with getting the perfect body image she wants. This issue is seen all over the country. Girls want to be thin, even if they are thin. A lot of women have eating disorders. The society, want us to be thin. But it puts way to much pressure on young girls. You can’t even watch a show on TV with out a commercial saying try the new “pills” to make you loose weight. The workout infomercials are a big part of women being drawn to loss weight too. This girl in this picture might already have an eating disorder, or even thinking of having one. The society puts way to much pressure on these young women.
Society today places pressure on women of all ages, especially young girls, to be thin and beautiful. Through the use of television, magazines, and even peers teenage girls have learned that in order to be normal you have to be a size four with a beautiful face. The worst part about it is that if you don't fit this criteria that you are some how less important, and that your not normal. I loved this photograph because it perfectly embodies this thought. The girl in the picture is hanging clippings from magazines of young women who are "beautiful". It is almost a shrine. It appears to me that she is idolizing these women as something to look up to. The picture of the ad for hydroxycut was shocking. All of the diet pills on the market today are basically large amounts of caffine. This is not a healthy way to maintain weight because it can lead to heart conditions, and high blood pressure. However, society pushes these products as not only a way to fit into their cookie cutter world, but to also line thier pockets with your money. It's amazing how much pressure is placed on the female youth today by society.
Girl's image is so important to these young girls now a days it's crazy. The desire of wanting to be thin by hanging the picture in the center of all the other beautiful magazine cut outs. The picture was well put, to have the girl almost surrounded in all the pictures. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming it hurts. The most important ad is put in the middle as this girl thinks. Society makes young girls think that to loss wieght you will be beautiful just like the models in the pictures. This ad for Hydroxy Cut, and millions of other ad's across the nation seem to lead to many girls of all ethinicty's to create eating disorders or non-healthy eating habits to achieve this perfect body image. So many pressures are found in young girls lives, wieght should not be one of them.
The fact that the media has expanded in so many directions has a direct effect on ho much pressure we feel from it. We hear about it on the radio, see it in magazines, view it on tv, walk in it while in public, etc. it's impossible to escape from the pressures of today. Noone will ever feel pretty enough or have the best clothes because there is always something above us feeding us and driving us to want more. Girls of today will never feel good enough because of the things they see in the media. If the media took pictures of girls in highschool and put them in fashion magazines maybe just maybe we would be ok with being ourselves.
The girl in this picture has pictures of famous, beautiful, thin, and fit women. In the middle of the picture she has a Hydroxycut ad showing that this can be the start of her achieving the look of these women. The image that the women are portraying in this picture sends messages women mainly young women that they should look like this and if they don’t they should find a way to. As said before maybe using Hydroxycut can help. Our society continuously sends messages like this to the female community of all ages, and it’s harmful in some cases because our young women may put to much pressure on their selves trying to achieve this state of beauty. Most importantly taking dietary supplements like Hydroxycut isn’t healthy. It’s not the best natural way to lose weight, and is known to cause internal and mental problems, and may lead to eating disorders. Ultimately the women in the picture may lead the girl in the photo to extremes to achieve this image.
