Abby has a classic little girl look- hair back, lots of jewelry (including her newly pierced ears)- essentially "very cute". When I took this picture, I told Abby "strike a sexy pose". And this is what she did. She has a coy smile, looking away from the camera, legs on the booth seat so that she could lean forward- you get my point. While she is only 4 years old, I believe I would have gotten a similar look if I had asked a 13 or 14 year old to do the same thing. This is one of many acceptable poses for girls in this day and age.

I feel as if young girls are definitely trying to portray teenagers or older women. I am sure if you asked another young girl to "strike a sexy pose" they would look something alone those lines. Her attitude in this picture comes off very sassy. It seems like she doesn't want to be 4 years old, but someone who is older and someone who is well known and appreciated. A perfect example for that would be Hannah Montana. I feel that she has a huge impact on young girls today and that they look up to her. Some of the things she wears I find to be very revealing. When a young girl sees this they want to be just like her. In this picture I can tell this girl wouldn't mind being like Hannah Montana.
Everyday I see young girls trying to be older than they really are. It used to be that when you turned 13, you were expected to leave your childhood behind and begin adulthood as a teenager. Now, it seems that you are expected to leave your childhood at the age of 10 or even younger. When I was 4 years-old, the word "sexy" wasn't even a word to me. Today, I see young girls walking around, dressed up like miniature teenagers saying that something they like is "sexy." I believe a large portion of this is due to the media, however, it is the parents' responsibility to help these young girls make decisions based on what is right for them, not what society expects them to be.
I think it is shocking how little girls are so affected by the media and what it depicts as sexy and beautiful. The fact that the girl has her ears already pierced at age four goes to show that she already has a sense of what people think of as 'pretty' and wants to act a lot older than she is by having ear rings. I didnt get my ears pierced until I was in ninth grade simply because I didn't really care about what I looked like until then, but for a four year old to have ear rings as well as to be posing the way she is in the picture is astonishing. If i had been asked to strike a sexy pose for a camera I definitely wouldnt put my leg up on a table either, now or when i was 4.
mYou do see young girls today trying to be older than what they are. this girl in this picture looks like she would love to be at least the same age as Hannah Montana or older. i don't understand why girls today want to act older than they are. its wried to see young girls striking a sexy pose or even having attitude with other girls and parents to make them selfs look better and older. why do they want to grow up so fast, once you start growing up you wish that you were a kid again. these young girls need to hold on to their youth before its gone.
In looking at this picture I see a little girl trying to imitate an older person. Copying someone that she has seen. She looks older than what she is. Unfortunately this is the way some people are potraying themselves to their siblings and in turn they are trying to copy them. The jewelry makeup and hair. the coy sexy look. Too much for such a young chils.
This young girl has obviously spent time looking at older females. With the jewelry and they way that she is looking at the camera really shows her gender and their is no question of who she is. I thought back to when I was 4 and I see how society has gotten strong to portray their childrens gender. I also see how their idols have a part in this.
This is such a relief to me. When I saw that you asked her to strike a sexy pose, I think many young girls would have done far worse, more crude poses. However, it is still weird that a four year old girl has any idea what the word "sexy" means, and how to act semi-sexy. In reguards to the jewlery she is wearing, I think it is acceptable because many little girls also are tomboys, and she still looked like a cute little girl, not any older than her age.
I think its crazy that four year olds already can immdiately strike a pose like this when asked to "strike a sexy pose". I think girls under the age of like 21 shouldnt even worry about being sexy. You're not fully grown you're still a child. Its ridiculous the ideas media puts in to young girls heads. Kids both boys and girls need to enjoy their youth and take everything out of it they can and not try and grow up too fast.
