This picture was taken the way it was to show how girls act to meet the standards of looking cute. As you know the gender of being a girl shown by advertisements is supposed to be sexy, beautiful, and thin. Also they are supposed to be in their glamorous 20's and 30's. I chose this picture because it shows two young,pretty and, thin girls.But even though they are pretty and thin they still pose for a picture as if they needed to look better. One has a short dress on popping her hip out. Gender socialization is influencing young girls to grow up faster then they should. They both have their shoulders back to expose more of their chest to look sexy. It shows that they think they have to be seen as older and developed. But i also chose this picture because it was taken with palm trees in the background. The palm trees are supposed to represent paradise. Not only do you want to be beautiful but you also want to be in a beautiful place. Models in calendars always show them in bikinis and on beautiful beaches. That just shows everything in a girls life has to be a beautiful paradise.

I thought the blog that went along with the picture was really good because it perfectly explained how girls and women are noticeably molded and socialized by the media. The way the two girls are posing in the picture shows how they think women stand in order to look pretty. In the way that they are posing it is like they want to be just like the people in the media like models in magazines with the tropical background and short dresses on.
i think kind the opposite of what the blog is for this picture. to me it seems like two girls on vacation taking a picture and thats all. As a girl who loves to take pictures to remember points of my life, i can see me wanting to take a picture of me and my friend in front of palm trees because you dont see a palm tree everyday and just because i want a picture with my friend and thats it. when i take pictures with my friends i really dont think am i striking the right pose do i have a great backround behind me, etc.
The picture is cute, but I just see some girls who just got out of the pool when on vacation. it does not tell me to much about the angles and colors in the picture. Maybe I just did not get it.
While I do agree that this picture was taken to remember their vacation, I believe there outfits and pose do show how young girls are effected by the media. It seems at though the girls felt the need to wear short dresses and get dolled up to feel cute.
I think it is so fascinating that even though these to girls are dressed up they think that have to do extra to look even more beautiful. They need to just have fun right now and not worry so much about what they look like and trying to look older. That will come in time and then theywill be trying so hard to look younger. The media needs to realize the kinds of things they are printing and their effect on girls.
I think this picture is a perfect example of the way young girls feel like they should act in order to get attention of guys. Girls see models and actresses in the media who get all kinds of attention for being beautiful and they feel like by doing the same things the models do they will receive the same attention. By wearing short dresses and revealing clothing girls know that they will get attention from guys.
I do agree that young girls always try to look pretty and want to be thin and etc. But this picture just seems like an vacation picture because what person doesn’t pose and try to look good in a picture, it almost comes natural to do this in a picture not just to look “older”.
