The photo that I took is a great example of gender socialization. The picture is of a 4 year old little girl in her bedroom. The picture shows how big of an influence the media has on children. The little girl likes to dress up in this outfit because it looks just like an outfit a princess would wear. The picture shows how much the TV shows she watches impacts her life. The little girl thinks that this is how she is suppose to act and dress. In the background you can see her walls. I decided to put this in the picture because it shows exactly what she is trying to look like and also how much this little girl looks up to these characters. The picture shows the little girl trying to be someone else, and not herself. The media wants little girls to act this way because they think this is normal. The media believes little girls should not play with the things little boys play with. This picture is the best way to show how the media stereotypes little girls.
