The photo that I took shows two young boys in the bathroom pretending to shave their faces in front of the bathroom mirror. The shaving cream bottle sitting on the sink has an image from the children's movie, "Cars." I wanted to take the picture from the side to show them as if I was not in the room. The lights are on in the bathroom when I took this photo, showing an actual setting where a man would be shaving his face. The light can also be a symbol of a bright future for the boys. The picture shows the young boys looking into the mirror as if they were actually shaving. The photo also shows the children's Oral B toothpaste and toothbrushes in the background. This reminds us that they are young children, yet they are performing duties as a young man would. The imagination has come with the vision of watching their daddy shave his face, just as they are pretending. This shows the boys that in the future they will be shaving as well. Gender has been taught to them at a young age, because they know the difference between mommy shaving her legs and daddy shaving his face. They wanted to perform the task as if they actually needed to do it. I think that it is important for children to role play at a young age. Shaving will be a necessity that they will encounter later on in life. I enjoyed watching them imagine that they were really performing this task. The photo also shows one of the boys smiling; he was having fun while pretending to use the razor with shaving cream. It was important that they did not know I was going to take a photo of them doing this, because I wanted to capture the actual imagination and excitement seen on their faces in this photo. I think that children learn their gender by observing and watching others at a young age. There is a separation of femininity and masculinity throughout daily duties that women and men perform. I believe that observation and interaction is a major factor that guides young children to learn the things that their future entails.

I feel as if this picture shows how little boys look up to their fathers. You can tell that they like Cars the movie which is directed towards little boys, but at the same time they are trying to act mature and a lot older for their age. Most kids don't have any idea about shaving but they either learned this from their father or something from the media. The boys aren't paying attention which shows they are in their own little world. I think its good that both boys are in the picture, because boys tend to follow one another when they are young. In the description, it talks about the light representing the future for this boys and I think it is a very good point because in the future, this will be a frequent occurrence for them.
These boys are shown by their father, or another male figure, what is masculine and expected of a boy. It is very apparent that they are not ready to be doing this because the boy closest to the camera has shaving cream on his hand.Right next to the tooth brushes is a “Stages” tooth paste, which gives away they’re secret that they are not old enough to be shaving.
I like this picture alot because it's really true. Young boys will imitate who they admire, and most of the time it's their father because thats who they want to grow up to be. So if they see there father shaved they are going to try to shave too. Thinking that they will become men if they just do what men do. But they just don't know that they could really hurt themselves by shaving. However i really like this pic!!!!
I really like this photo. Not only is this picture absolutely adorable, but it is a great example of how children attempt to be like adults. I also like how this picture captures the boys shaving and then the objects representing childhood. You can also tell that they have learned how to shave from someone else. I think that children learn their gender by observing and watching others at a young age.
This picture shows us how little boys look up to their father figures and strive to be men. It is a great example of how children try to be like their parents. It demonstrates what a big influence our parents are to us and what a big part they play in our gender socialization.
this picture is cute, but its correct. these boys are shaving becasue they probably see their father shave, and they look up to their dad and want to be just like him. It just shows how young little kids are starting to do grown up things.
These little boys are probably interested in being exactly like their dad. This picture shows us that we pay attention to the actions of our role models at a very young age. Since they are smiling, it seems to be a fun activity for the little boys because they are getting to do something that makes them feel mature.
I think this photo is a great display of how young boys strive to be like the older men in their lives. The boys are obviously young, but I also think the items, such as childrens toothpaste, enforce the young age. I think the expressions on their faces show excitement, curiosity and eagerness to grow up. I particularly like this photo because most photos for this assignment are of girls, but I like that it shows boys feel genderization also in ways aside from there clothes and toys. On the other hand, I also like this photo becasue I think it may be a good argument that boys are seen as having fun when doing older types of activities, where as girls are seen as striving to be like women. For example, it is arguable that these boys were just horsing around and using there imaginations, where as a photo of a girl (the same age as these boys) comparing her weight or apearance to an older girl would be seen as her wanting to change physically to be like that. Good job with this photo.
