I took this photo from the outside looking in. As you look to the left, you see part of the door post. Looking at the picture the first theme noticed is the color. The room is covered in pink, everything even the walls and carpet are pink. This may be represented as an ideal room from a little girl. Pink is a soft color that is associated with girls. Usually we hear the saying 'Pink is for girls". Pink's hue is a tint that is a mixture between red and white. Parents and others start programming pink as the girl color from the time they are born. The color pink being represented for girls also affects the toy selection that girls prefer. By selecting the color pink, it also can represent the soft, passiveness, and sometimes helplessness of a female child. The picture also shows that there is a nurturing side to the little girl because there is a goldfish and a doll. It shows that she is learning to care for others and learning also how to do hair. The photo also shows an emphasis on image by having the mirror take up a good amount of space in the picture. In the photo, there is also a picture of a mirror and a princess inside that was colored with crayons. Both of the mirrors are to the left side of the picture. The photo shows that as a side effect, the child compares herself to that of a Disney Princess. By having the light shine bright in the photo, I was showing the sense of innocence within the child and to put a small spotlight on Disney Princess preference in the room.

I think even a disney princess would become tired of all this pink. I wonder if girls would still have this much pink in their rooms if Disney never existed.
