Trapped Within Beauty

From: Stepanie
The photo that I have taken shows what teens use to make themselves feel comfortable in order to fit in their social world today. The makeup represents beauty and the magazine is what traps the teens in a closet called peer pressure. Many teens are trapped in this closet for the wrong reason they want to fit in our they want be like the women in those magazines ,they feel if you don't look a certain way then you are not consider beautiful.

I agree with Stephanie. All of the make-up, perfum, and hair products teens use everyday to make themselves feel beautiful the way the media thinks females are beautiful.

I agree that there are many pressures in society for young women. However, this is why we have parents who help to influence what the children are exposed to, who are their friends, and encourage them to be themselves. No one needs to conform to society and its pressures.

I agree the media and the society we live in set a high standard of beauty that cannot be reached without the use of different products. Even then getting to the ideal is almost impossible which is why there is such a big market out there for cosmetics and beauty magazines. That teens feel this need to conform in such drastic ways and starting so young shows just how much the media affects young girls ideas of what beauty is and what a girl has to do to become beautiful.

It seems like natural beauty does not exist anymore. I I agree with Stephinie girls learn that in order to be beautiful they have to buy products that will make them pretty.

I agree with stephanie. Young teens spend hours in the mirror every morning just to get ready to go to school. No one tells teens how long it should take them to get ready or how much make-up will make them pretty. Yet they use it every morning. In a way products make them feel prettier.

This photo shows what girls cover themselves up with in order to impress others. I feel it shows the great expectations that others have on girls to look perfect by using all of these products. People believe that this is what it takes to be beautiful because of how the media and advertisements display women wearing these products.

Yes, Stephanie has a point; the media is a major influence on women and even teens. The media is making girls feel self-conscience about their outer beauty therefore pushing their products. Make-up can enhance any aspect they feel they are lacking; hence why there is so much of a choice. The magazines behind the product are the source of media used in this picture. The make-up material and magazines take up over the entire picture as a way to show how big of an influence beauty is to society.

All of those products represent the fact that real beauty is a myth. There are thousands of products that women are expected to use. If the table was clear of products society would be stunned.

I agree with the comment. Especially with teens today whose constant priority is fitting in. The media sends the message to easily influenced teenage minds that these make-up and other beauty products will help them achive the social image that they are so desperate to be a part of.

I think this picture applies to almost every girl in the United States today. It shows girls that there is no such thing as natural beauty. To make yourself beautiful cosmetic products must be involved. This concern with making yourself beautiful is also beginning at a younger age. The media has a huge influence on what it means to be beautiful in our society.

I agree that allot of what we see in the media is considered beautiful and it's peer pressure for young girls and women. Most of the items that Stephanie showed feminineness and it go back to the target FEMALE. The media uses all these advertisements and products to show us how they think we should be.
