You'll notice in this photo that the male child is taking up more of the photo, as opposed to the female child who is in the background, showing that he has more power. Also, the girl is facing away from the camera to show that she is of less importance, and she represents females as a whole instead of an individual. The toys each of the children are playing with represent traditional boy or girl toys by social standards (his are violence oriented characters and hers is a Barbie in a car), instead of being more neutral or the children playing with each other's toys. This shows how gendered the children are, with their toys. The body language of the children explains a lot as well. The boy child is facing straight ahead but looking down at his toys; the girl is facing away from him and playing alone. You should notice that the children are playing in the corner of the room, the walls separating to show two paths, the gendered paths of males and females.
