The photograph I took was very eye catching, it really told a story. The fourteen year old girl name Brittany is in her own bathroom which is pink. She is wearing her school skirt so you can take a guess she just got out of school. She is in the mirror putting on makeup. She is looking at a magazine at a glamorous model the she wants to be just like. The feelings that might be going through her head is how bad she wants to be like the models and the magazine because they are suppose to be so beautiful. This photo really just screams everything about girl. The pink bathroom really let's you know it is a girl bathroom. The fourteen year old girl has a lot of make up on that she really does not know how to wear it. As it is all over her face. More then likely her parents brought her all of the makeup because at that age girls really start to care about there looks trying to fit in. This photograph just shows how young teen girls want to be what they see like in the magazine.

I remember when I was younger I always wanted to wear makeup just like my mom. I always watched the way she did her eye makeup and wanted to be able to do it as perfectly as she did. Younger girls may be trying to hard and wearing way too much makeup and tight clothing to try and fit in better and get more attention from guys. But if you’re wearing makeup at a young age in moderation I think it’s fine. But just the fact that girls want to wear makeup in the first place just shows how much effect the cosmetics industry holds over women and how much we feel we need it to make us beautiful.
This is a great photo essay about how teenage girls has so much pressure these days to be pretty even just at home. This picture portrays an average girl trying to become what she sees in the media and even has the support of her parents who allow this. We all were young once and i know that even know looks are really important. Looks stem back to childhood days as we know romantic relations start with the outer loooks of people. Looking a certain to some feel that it is the only way to get attention. Great picture overall.
When I was a little girl, I remember how I wanted wear makeup like my mom! everything about this picture screams insecurity. We all know at that age we all wanted to be seen as perfect. I like how in the picture there are pictures of skinny models. It as if the girl is trying to be just like them.
This picture really emulates what being a teenager in our society is like. Your title "Trying too hard" is so accurate-it speaks to the effort that teenage girls put into their looks and materialistic beauty when they don't have to (well, I guess they do have to according to the media).
