This picture is supposed to portray the double standard of sexual expression in America. Society has different reaction to guys and girls having sex. When guys freely express themselves they are praised for it. They are strongly encouraged by friends and family to sleep around with a lot of different girls. It is masculine to sleep around and if you don’t you are labeled as not masculine. Parents will begin to be worried if their sons do not sleep with many women they will think their son is gay. The guy in to photo is checking out another girl already and is over my character. Friends praise him when he sleeps with many women. I used phone numbers to show how many numbers he has acquired from girls. He is not planning on forming a relationship at all. Many guys will sleep around and then find one girl, who really impresses them, to settle down with. I used the beer in the picture to represent the tool men use to guarantee getting laid. Guys typically take advantage of girls when they are drunk. Alcohol contributes to rape as well which is a huge issue today. Girls who express their sexuality are instantly labeled as a slut, whore, or any other degrading term. I used the thought bubbles to convey that these girls think I am a slut for sleeping with the guy on the other side of the photograph. My character feels hurt and judged for being called a slut. They should be allowed to express themselves as much as a man can and not suffer the consequences. I look depressed and ashamed for sleeping with the guy. The two girls behind me are angry with me and they are shocked. The guy is ecstatic to find a new girl to use. All she did was have sex and for that she is called a whore and slut. Society wants girls to look innocent, yet be sexual at the same time so there is no medium. These degrading names are meant to hurt the victim and to punish them so they learn to not repeat the action. It is hard for women because they are supposed to be a sexual display and visual for men, yet they cannot have a lot of sex when men can sleep with anyone, anytime. It is so confusing for girls. A lot of girls will continue to sleep with many guys and they will be ridiculed so much that they become emotionally destroyed. Women shouldn’t have to feel shameful or regret sleeping with different partners. Society applies a lot of pressure on women to not express their sexuality like men do.

This is a perfect example of how when certain situations are faced with girls and boys the girls are judge a lot more. Society shows the boy credit when they are sexual with someone else , they get all positive feed back most of the time. But, when a girl is sexual with a man she gets called certain names and is judge constantly. For example, even with parents for boys their dads will be positive with them about having sex and all they want them to do is where a condom. But, when it comes to girls their mom do not give them any positive feedback it is mostly negative and disappointing. Society is not equal what so ever when it comes to different genders.
