Beauty?

from: Sarah

In today's society young girls as early as the age ten have pressure upon themselves to look a certain way that society tells them to. It is not always easy to be the way society wants them to be, but they try hard please them. Young children see their mothers, sisters, and even friends doing certain things that girls and women do, so they adopt the same things. Young girls see all these beautiful women in magazines, television, and on the streets with a lot of make up on covering their real face. They also see their older sisters putting make up on trying to be what they thing would please others. Young children do a lot of what they see, especially when they see it all of the time. So in return they will adopt the same things as what they see thinking that : "I must wear make up, or I will look horrible." Looking at your big breasted, skinny, beautiful sister putting make up on makes you thing that you need to grow up being and looking just like she is, which puts a lot of pressure on a 10 year old 80 pound girl to do.

I really enjoyed your paper. It is so true little girls are having it very hard . You have to be this way or , you have to look this way. When all they have to be is thereselves.

In life growning up i can recall my mother. Who is white she would put on all kinds of makeup. And it made her look very pretty but i always thought she was already pretty. Why does she have to wear makeup? But the older i get i wanted to wear makeup. I wanted to be pretty. But just beaceuse you wear makr up and have big breast doesm't make you pretty.

I liked your paper a lot, it reminded me a lot of me when I was younger. I always watched my mom getting ready and putting tons of makeup on and I wanted to do the same thing.

I really enjoyed your photo assignment, it makes me think back to when I was a young woman looking at my mother when she put on makeup for guidance...thinking thats how I needed to dress as well. Young women have it so hard nowadays with the unreal standards of beauty they feel like they have to reach.
