My picture is symbolizing the fact that most people would think that a man drove this truck because of the fact that it is considered done up so that it is better than everyone else's. These trucks can also be considered sexy by some men because men usually give them girl's names. When I took the picture there was a women driving the truck and so it does not really fit the norms of what most people would think. I have found that in the last 7 years more women prefer to drive trucks and want them to look better than most of the men's trucks.

I know that in my family (of all girls) my oldest sister's first car was a truck, and my other sister's first car was a trans am and mine was a mustang. The trans am and the mustang both "done up" are considered more of the guys cars too, but me and my sisters all have had those types of cars, by our own choice. I don't think alot of people realize some people do not fit certain stereotypes when it comes to gender, and that is showing alot more in the past few years.
This is funny cause I went out with a guy friend. I was driving my 2007 4 door Jeep Wrangler. He said "it's cool looking,FOR A GUY"wHAT IS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN?? He kept explaining how girls are suppose to drive cars and not trucks. I like driving a jeep, it makes me feel powerful on the road.LOL
I also agree that the normal is a man driving a pick up truck. But why? Is it because men are the ones that work and need the work truck? I don't know, and i don't think any one does. I applaud the women that do drive trucks. I almost feel like yelling out the window "you go girl!" They are stepping out of the norm and doing something that they want to. Even it is deemed "wrong" by society. All the more power to them!

I agree with jball, most of my girlfriends like driving SUV's and trucks and Jeeps because they like being higher up. My friend myoko is 4'11'' and drives an ESCALADE! A lot of girls that i know drive trucks like this because they say it makes them feel safe being in such a large vehicle. I always said that the smaller you are, the bigger the car...guy or girl.
(from ABC NEWS @ 10)studies show that women are the target for cars, not trucks. they are making cars lighter in color, with vanity mirrors, and even upholstery to match purses. personally, i think a woman should drive whatever she feels comfortable in, whether it be a Volkswagen or a hummer. my girlfriends car is a mustang. i think its great that she has a nice car and cruisin' around in style.
