My picture socializes teenage female during her spare time. Would you really see a 14 year old boy engaging in such activities? During teenage years, females are at their highest point of pressure from their peers. This is a picture of my 14 year old cousin talking on the phone, text messaging and reading a magazine. When girls are younger in age, they tend to still play with dolls, house ware, and dress up. As
they grow older, they take on older traits to help them fit in better. Teenage girls feel pressured to fit in the "popular"crowd. Talking on the phone symbolizes a type of independency from your parents. Most teenage girls look forward to this independency when they become a teenager. Talking on the phone is also a way to keep up with the latest gossip. Unlike most boys, girls like to feel like they have to know everything about everybody. Magazines are a good source to get tips on dating, fashion, and gossip about celebrities. Also girls are pressured to look more seductive with their clothing. Even though she is relaxing in the premises of her own room, she still portrays a more seductive look than what an older generation of people would expect. The color blue plays an important role in this picture because blue is said to be a boy color. On the other hand, the blue says that as females grow into their teenage lives, they realize that pink is no longer a color they want to completely associate with their lives. Text messaging has become so popular in the millennium. I actually find that more people text message than hold an actual conversation. It also has swept teens everywhere across the country to a whole new world of communication. The whole idea of her being the biggest thing in the picture symbolizes the power that you want when you reach teenage years. Teenage girls start to think that they are invincible after they reach high school. They just don't know how to adjust to the new faces and life that comes with teenage years.
