I love this picture of my nephew, Desmond as it shows socializatin when it comes to boys. he loves playing with all his toys, but he really loves his bull dozer as it makes him feel more like a grown up. Toys like bull dozers, tractors and trucks are the types of toys boys play with not girls. Men have to be big and strong when operating any heavy equipment, so like boys when they play with these kinds of toys they feel like their dads. Desmond is making a statment that anytime you work all day with heavy equipment you are tired and want to come home and relax, which is probably what some men do at the end of the day. The one thing we will notice, Desmond did not mind getting his picture taken. He was tired and justed wanted to relax after a hard day at work on his dozer.

The concept of being more manly shouldnt even enter this kids head. WHy is it that bys like to play with toys that cause destruction? Things like this teach boys from an early age that destroying is what men do, not love or cherish. Maybe if all boys played a doll once or twice when they were kids, they would have better appreciation for family or women or taking care of the household. I wonder if the toys were given to him or if he picked it out himself. I guess it goes back to the whole nature vs. nurture thing. Are boys meant to destroy and be macho or are they taught that?
