In my photo, I portrayed the image of "Skinny=Pretty" in teenage girls. It shows that it doesnt matter what age a girl is (in this picture, the girl is 13), the image of being fat or chubby eqauls being ugly, or not perfect. Young teenage girls believe that eating less, equals gaining less. And this is where eating disorders come into play.
The girl in the picture is my sister, Emily. She is 13 years old, and I asked her what she thought was "so called pretty." She responded flat out with "Skinny, and long lucious hair". So i asked her to make it look like she was trying to make herself 'look' skinner, without actually being it. In the picture there is also a plate of food, which really isnt much. Just a stem of grapes, and a couple of strawberries. You can actually see alittle bit of a water bottle in it too.

Skinny= pretty is a terrible message we are teaching children and young adults. It would be interesting to see the stats on eating disorders in the 70's to the 80's to the 90's, to now. Eating food is part of your development, starving yourself or dieting at such a young age is a terrible thing to do to your body. What i have noticed is that girls nowadays dont get to find out who they are until after high school which i think is a terrible thing... to not have confidence in yourslef when it matters the most is what makes our young people so unhappy. I bet if most females would have dont things lot differently if they could relive being 13. I dont think people realize that 13 is too young to care about being ugly.
