Courtney is a 15 years old average high school girl who she is obsessed with getting her body thin- slim; eventually, losing some weight. The one thing I liked about this picture is the mannequin of the person behind her. That mannequin reflects that the person has gone through an unbelievable health revolution by not only losing substantial amount of weight, but losing really huge amount of his body weight, and also the jeans that he is holding, definitely enlightens to the fact that he did go through a drastically change in his body image. We can see that media can manipulate the daily life of the people, and not only just by showing someone losing their weight, but also by providing different options of foods to lose weight. Here Courtney looks like she is taking a look at the menu board, and seeing all different types of options; she rather looked confused to make her decision of placing an order for her food. Girls especially the teenagers are more likely to be concerned about their body image, because how they are today, will make difference tomorrow. Family restaurant such as here is encouraging people to get healthier foods, and for which they are attracting children more than any adults. The media has taken obesity as a major target, so it is trying to persuade boys and girls like Courtney to visit restaurants that provides more fresh and healthy choice of foods. Girls like Courtney have mentality of which they believe that just getting healthy foods are enough to lose some weight, and so they just try to get those foods more frequently. Why? Because media says so. It persuades people to get more healthy food, but does not tell them to remain healthy by doing other exercises. Why? Because they would want their own product to sell on the market, they do now want to add another product to it so that their initiative market would go down. To make it more precise, the media, while showing add of a restaurant which provides health food, their main focus would be only on the food. But hey! how about other factors which has to be taken under consideration. Eating
would not only help one lose weight, how about some solid workout, and exercises to remain in shape in addition of taking healthy foods. So this misleads girls of Courtney's age to think that nothing is working for her, because what she saw and heard was just to eat healthy and that's all, so she would have no idea of doing other recreational activities that would help her get in her desirable shape.

I think this picture is great. The decision to choose what to eat should be simple, but when paired with the pressures that are placed on women to be thin, the decision becomes less about nourishment and more about how the food will affect her size. Her facial expression perfectly expresses her bewilderment. She looks like she's looking up at Godzilla rather than a menu. And with Jared, the weight-loss superstar, breathing down her neck, there's even more pressure to get something skimpy, and probably stay hungry for the rest of the day.
It just shows how lazy our country is. Why do we teach our children that you can not weigh alot if you eat healthy? Where is the billboard that says that people should exercise? I mean again, why is this young girl even worried about being thin when the obvious choice to be healthy is to eat? I agree with jamyla, the decision to eat should be an easy one. I think its great that food places are focusing on eating better, but exercise should also be part of that message.
I like the picture. It portrays what women and children think about. Being concerned about their weight and how they look seems to override their inner beauty.
