Many still believe that a woman's life should be a checklist, Degree, House, Husband and Kids, when one is done we got to move onto the next one. Hence, many of us settle for Mr. Right now, not caring whether or not he is the right man, or if we even need that kind of commitment. We tried to make it all about us wearing a big white dress and having a huge party, but sadly for some women it is just another checkmark on life's list.

This photo is a great representative of the social expectations of women. The shinny refrigerator door that is taking up most of the image has the women to the right of it and just the arm of the man to the left. The women is looking away from the door holding her future and tasks with a worrisome face and unsure if she really wants to follow the expectations of her social learning. The man on the other hand is the one who is opening the door as if he has some control now of what goes on in her life, he controls opening and the closing of decions. The girls is in color showing that she is the main reason for the photo and purpose, but the man is in black and white almost making him apart of the list. His image is not necessary because he could be any man in her life, all men control her choices. It may very well have been a man who influenced the very social expectations that she has put on her list. I like this photo because it says alot with very little symbols involved. Lighting just in the focal points that give the viewer an idea of her considerations to life's list.
I like this picture because I think it address' the issue that women are often willing to settle. It also shows that how women are socialized to want to get married so bad they just go for it instead of finding mr. right they go for mr. right now.
This picture shows us how once women get older and are still single they begin to feel as if they aren't good enough. Women seem to depend on men and when they actually find a man that likes them they settle just so they have someone. In reality women should be happy with having their freedom and take advantage of it for more opportunities in life.
