This photograph demonstrates the stereotype that females are bad
drivers. In this photo, 3 ½ year old Angelina is pretending to drive,
while being distracted by many things. She is on the phone, and there
is also an iPod near by, which to me shows how she wants to have this
technology that she does not even understand. I chose to take this
photo from the back passenger seat because this is the view she see’s
me and other adults from. She is clearly wearing sunglasses too big
for her head, but she just wants to act like one of the big girls.

I absolutly love love love this picture. It is 100% true at how people today are influencing young children. Kids look up to their parents and older siblings, and this is how we show them to be? The picture is awesome! Good Job!
(Im continuing my comment)
You see that the young girl is using the cell phone while driving, which everyone does; even though we all know it isn't safe. Also, you see that the iPod is right next to her, which means she isn't paying complete attention to the road when she looks for a new song to play. The car she is driving is a Mazda, which are somewhat of a sports car and it probably can go fast, which might be a temptation to speed alittle bit. The girl isn't even paying attention to the road, she is looking to her right.
This picture gives me a mix of feelings. I totally agree with how the picture portrays reasons why girls may be considered "Bad" drivers. However, we should keep in mind the fact that if anybody attempts to multitask while driving, there bound to end up in an accident. Great usage on the props, and placing the young girl in a convertible sports car. Sadly enough, I've caught myself trying to multitask while driving too! I’m as guilty as this young girl!
The picture taken of the 3 year old girl, Angelina, sitting behind the wheel of a car pretending to drive is a great photo used to overly exaggerate the typical stereotype of females being bad drivers. I thought it was very creative in the way the photo was set-up to be taken. I felt the use of a 3 year old girl instead of a grown woman was a perfect example of how people will automatically assume that females are bad drivers whether or not they are old enough to drive or not. Obviously, Angelina is nowhere near close to being able to drive a vehicle which proves the fact that in society today it doesn’t matter what age you may be, people will tend to judge you by your gender. The objects included in this photo (cell phone, iPod, and purse) suggest that females tend to try and do too many things at once while trying to drive instead of paying attention to the road. I often catch myself doing this same exact thing when driving which is why this photo reminds me very much of myself. The way Angelina’s face is turned to the right helps prove this statement because she is not looking forward at the road like a good driver would be doing. I like the fact that Angelina is dressed in pink clothes with a bow in her hair because it really helps to point out the statement that this certain stereotype of bad drivers is being geared towards females only. Since the car used in the photo is known as a Mazda and probably being a fast car is a good representation of how Angelina is trying to grow up to fast and do something that only mature, older women do. The sunglasses that are too big for her face represent Angelina trying to act older then what she really is. I also felt that by taking the picture from the backseat instead of the passenger’s seat for instance was a creative way to show the point of view Angelina otherwise would have seen from the backseat and her now trying to perceive that image. Over all, I believed this picture was taken in a very creative and well thought out way to express the fact that in society today people are so quick to assume something (stereotype) about someone just based on their gender.
This picture of this little girl is not only adorable but so stereotypical for the female gender and being associated with driving. Men especially think that women are the reason for all the accidents on the road and that women are the worst drivers. This is so far from true though. Everyone uses cell phones, not just females. Men text message and listen to music loud, not just females. I don’t think that this is just the opinion of certain males either. I was listening to the radio the other day and they had a survey they were taking over the phone to see whether people thought that men or women were worse drivers. I listened because I thought I would be humored but wound up madder than anything because the only people that seemed to want to call in were men, and the only thing they wanted to express was how they feel women are the worse driver flat out. I think this picture truly depicts what almost all people see when they think of women driving. That they are easily distracted and don’t pay attention. This picture is the perfect depiction of how society views women drivers.
SO scary but so true, its very interesting how you took that picture fomr her perspective, cause that is really like hands on learning from a 3 year olds point of view. I think by putting male or female behind the wheel of a car with all that tech is a bad choice. I also think that you are right when you say that it teaches our children that its ok to do these things, when we all know its not. I think that its imortant to teach our children to not be the sterotype.
This photo does an excellent job of showing the typical stereotypes of females, regaurdless of there age. It displays the female infatuation with material things, such as the large sunglasses, Ipod, purse and cell phone. I also agree that it does a good job displaying the distraction of the items in the car and "bad driver" image females are given. Well done!
