Does my make-up look okay?
From: Kenesha
My photo represent a little girl mimicking what she sees on television. This shows how young girls are strongly influenced by what the media advertises. The segment she is watching is called "Applying Eye Shadow. The television is the role of the teacher and the make-up symbolizes the young girls desire to be mature. I took the photo on this angle because I wanted to capture how focused she is on the televison as if the tv is hypnotizing her. As the young girl looks up at the tv it gives you the idea that young girls look up to the people they see on television as romodels. You always want to be like the person you look up too. All the different cosmetics scatter across the floor shows that this is nothing new for the girl if she has this much make-up at this young of an age. The beauty industry traps young girls and force them to grow up to fast no notifying how cosmetics can harm your skin at a yong age. Media wants adolescent girls to believe beauty is power and if there always glued to the main source of media there back is always turned from reality.

This picture shows how the media effects the way young girls try to look. I believe the girl in this picture is obviously too young to be wearing make-up because she doesn't know how to put it on. It also shows how race does not matter, that every girl tries to look a certain way because of what they see on t.v. and magazines.
I like how this picture points out that even the TV is telling us were not pretty enough or we should learn how to put make up on correctly.
This is another great example of how the television helps shape a girl’s life with beauty products. Now cable companies have lessons on how to apply make-up (as shown in this picture). And having the young girl sitting there watching this segment shows that girls really are affected by the media.
This shows how girl want to be exactly like the famous actresses that they see on television. They mimick these womens make up and clothes and style. They do this so they will feel good about themselves. Also so they will be socially accepted.
